Coverage
Block-level in 23 cities, wherever a city publishes open incident data. Full list below. Agency-level everywhere else, always labelled.
Last updated 2026-08-11. Most agencies through 04-2026 (845 of 3,394); the FBI publishes per agency, so some lag further.
Everywhere: agency level
Every address resolves to the police agency that covers it. That agency is ranked against comparable agencies nationally and within its own metro, and graded. This is the product, and it works the same in every market we cover.

Block level: 23 cities
Where a city publishes its own incident data, we add a second figure: the incidents inside a radius around the address, ranked against the rest of that city. It is an addition to the agency-level answer, never a replacement for it, and it is always labelled with its resolution.

Why the list is short
Every block-level city is built one at a time. Each publishes a different dataset with a different offence coding, so each needs its own adapter and its own within-city baseline before a count can be ranked. There is no national source of incident-level data to buy — the FBI does not publish one. Cities are added on demand.
A city appears above only when it has both a working adapter and a built baseline. Counting incidents is not enough; without a baseline a count cannot be turned into a percentile, and an unranked count is not an answer.
Addresses outside a block-level city return the agency-level answer with the resolution stated on the result. Nothing is silently downgraded, and no figure is ever estimated to fill a gap.
